Ham pulls a blinder

Ham pulls a blinder

It was a transition day (in the vernacular) today. A long drive in sweltering heat (get used to it, it’ll get worse. Ed) which was complicated by the fact that Ham had to drop off Flossie and collect Caron from the airport, which meant a solo run for him 😬.

The rest of us set off, deciding the day was long enough anyway and we opted for the motorway. After a couple of hours driving, we received a WhatsApp from Ham. He’d stopped in a fuel station and couldn’t get any electrical connection to the starter motor. We pulled off the motorway as soon as we could and all agreed the situation was not hopeless but Ham is not our most accomplished mechanic. We prepared to return back down the motorway to deliver technical know how.

Ping! Fixed!

What?!

Hammy had pulled a blinder by diagnosing and fixing the problem; using the relay switch located under the bonnet that the rest of us Lagonda owners have noticed but have no idea what it is. David Ayres played ‘no part’ in this heroic act. 🙄

Nothing much else to report other than Chris had a minor ‘coming together’ in a queue at the border, which the owner of the BMW thought warranted international police, insurance agents etc. Chris and Sophie applied their charm and trundled on smiling and waving.

Tonight we feast in Belgrade.
