Bosphorous

 Bumble left us today (boohoo) and son Ed joined in her place. 


Ham had electrical issues again (so not the miraculous fix reported earlier) but self diagnosis, plus a bit of help from Chris and David soon had him going again. It remains a mystery to him why his ’Cyclops’ light remains on. 





Chris had an unexpected visitor, who jumped onto his running board whilst he waited on the hard shoulder for news of Ham. She excitedly told him “I am international face model and influencer!”  Shame we can’t actually see her face. 




Dinner in a fish restaurant tonight was spiced up with a fight - no, really a real fight - all very macho. 


We entered the continent of Asia crossing the Bosphorous at Istanbul. We have no more continents, other than Asia.

Day 1, Folkstone to Reims, distater stricks on day one!

We departed from the Boys hall hotel just outside Folkstone at 07:45 promised the most delicious bacon buns. The objective was to make sure we were on the 09:36 LeShuttle. All cars started on the first piston and the journey to Folkstone went without any problems apart from Nigel and Bumble struggling with the navigation as we left the hotel and the lack of a bacon bun. However despite this early rookie error we made it well in time. Flossie used her croissant as an indicator and we all evenutually navigated our way to the Eurotunnel. Sadly the best laid plans don't always survive contact, Charlie, Nellie, Ham and Flos were on the 08:34 but Nigel, Bumble, Chris and Sophie ended up on the later train. We hadn't gone 20 miles and we were already spread out like strawberry jam! Incomparable beauty

You don’t have to go to New Zealand or Chile to witness true splendour; we have it, almost, around the corner (in the Alps).     Today was a day of incomparable beauty and sometimes, I think some take it for granted.   Here is a video which I think perfectly reflects what I’m talking about.
