A rest day in Nashville

Tuesday was a rest day in Nashville. We all had lots of admin to complete including finalising shipping details when we end this epic adventure, updating our accounts (Ham is the team’s inhouse accountant who every week summarises  the teams finances and who owes who what) and also necessary work on the cars. Whilst the boys toiled the girls went shopping and cowboy boots were firmly in their sites!! 3 for the price of 1 proved extremely successful for all concerned. Even with all the toiling Nigel and Bumble managed to add a classic to Nigel's ever expanding hat collection.

Nigel concentrates on ensuring that there are no bumps and squeaks on his Lagonda so the at Bumble will have a comfortable ride. Ham adjusted his clutch which has been riding somewhat high. He’s sure that the car will make it but wants to avoid any prospect of the clutch beginning to slip. He also changed his spark plugs and reset the points… and then the car wouldn’t start!!  Ahhhhh….. Anyway Chris and Ham got her started so fingers are firmly crossed.

After more admin the team, less Nigel and Bumble set off for a line dancing class. Hilarious, Chris and Paddy didn’t even get on the dance floor, Ham and Barbara persevered but gave up unable to learn the moves whilst Sophie and Amelia completed the class and now officially line dancers. It is great fun but far more difficult than it looks.

After line dancing we visited the Grand ole Oprey House but sadly couldn’t get in as the show was sold out. With an audience of about 4000 it shows just how popular Country and Western is in this part of America.

An excellent dinner at the Optimist and then onto Broadway to visit a series of bars all playing a different band. They were all highly entertaining and if live music is your thing you won’t find a better place than Nashville to enjoy it.

As usual on gthis adventure Chris found the opportunity once again to perform. What can possibly stop the progress of his musical career? I have always thought that in Chris lies the next Tony Bennet, one of life's great crooners.
