It all takes forever!

And so we continue to wait. It is now 13th February, the day that the second boat to Ushuaia would have landed! Admittedly it would take a further 5-7 days to process the customs clearance so if we get the cars in the next couple of days we are still better off. Heading from Buenos Aires to Mendoza gets us back on track so that is currently the plan.

We passed time on Saturday by watching the rugby, Ireland vrs France and Scotland vrs Wales. Both great games and a good way to pass another frustrating day in BA.

What was even better was that the Foxes won 4-1 against Spurs. Happy days!

Hilarious supper at a highly recommended pizza restaurant where the moment we arrived the lights went out. The extremely large chef spent about an hour fiddling about with the fuse box as we sat in the increasingly hot, dark restaurant. I nearly stood up and offered my services! It really was a delicious pizza and well worth the wait.

Sunday we plan to catch the train to Tigres but arriving at the station confirms that there are no trains today. We managed to persuade two taxis to drive us there, hired a water taxi to take us around the canals of Tigre an excellent lunch and then back on the train to Belgrano in BA. 7 single tickets, Tigre to Belgrano, cost 460 pesos (£1 !!!). Its not entirely surprising that the Argentine economy is on its knees. The train was full of River Plate fans off to the match. Very loud and very passionate.

As a team we continue to retain amazing resilience and patience. We haven't got downhearted. We all keep an eye out for each other and make sure if any of us are dipping we are there to scoop them up. Shackleton always said that the most important virtue at times of adversity is optimism and we still have that in spades.

Returning to BA, Nigel, Dom, Caron and Richard dropped in on the 8 goal polo finals. Fantastic polo grounds and beautiful evening to be watching an excellent match. Tomorrow as they say is another day. We have been promised progress with Customs by mid-day. Here's hoping!
